New Year 2014

So actually the last  3-4 days have gone really well. We gave a blessing to the son of a inactive member who is having spine problems and he is 40ish
years old and that family has invited us to eat with them today and then we have reactivated several old members and are going to baptize a 13 year in february.
It is hard here with the rule that an investigator has to go to church 5 times before they can get baptized. Though it helps ensure that they stay active.
That is why the membership in Mexico is 2,300,000 but only 300,000 active with 2 mil inactive, sad really.

We also had a boom of references and new people to visit and that has been really nice since just before this we were having a hard time and we weren't having hardly any success. This just strengthened my testimony that we have to work hard every day even if we don't see the fruits of our labors right away. and that with perseverance, patience and diligence, relying on the will of the Lord and his time table blessings will always come. same with your seminary class, if you work hard every day no matter what the results for that moment or that day and put your faith in the Lord and not in your own abilities (Proverbs 3:5)  blessings will always come to pass. Don't worry.

Oh and guess what mom Elder Ruiz is getting 2 simplified hymnbooks sent to him from his dad and one is for me hooray!!
Love your guys photos. and keep up the ping pong practice jake and luke cuz when i get back i am not going to go easy on you guys. maybe even you can beat me. who know i believe in miracles. haha

Oh and amazingly i was awake for New Years and we celebrated with a dinner of hotdogs and hamburgers from one of the street venders that got delivered to our apt with everything on them. Salsa, guacamole, cheese, onions, ketcup, mayo, relish. oh deliciouso!!!
